What We Do: Mental Health Counseling
SMYRC provides FREE professional mental health counseling to youth 23 and under.
Services include assessment, groups, and individual, couples, and family therapy. Each counselor is trained in the special issues faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning youth.

Meet our clinicians:
- Jonathan K Weedman, MA
- Jonathan is the Program Manager of SMYRC as well as Mental Health Counselor. Jonathan has worked with GLBTQQIP youth for the last seven years. He holds a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from Lewis and Clark College.
- Amy Daniewicz, MSW
- Amy is the Crisis Counselor at SMYRC. Amy holds a Masters in Social Work from Portland State University and is working towards her LCSW. Amy has been a part of SMYRC for the last two years and worked with Child Welfare prior to her position in the Resource Center.
- Nathan Smith, BS
- Nathan is the clinical intern at SMYRC. He holds a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Portland State University and is working towards his Masters of Counseling Psychology at Pacific University. He has worked/volunteered within the sexual and gender minority community for the last seven years.
- Charlotte Redway, MSW
- Charlotte is a volunteer counselor at SMYRC. Charlotte holds an MSW from the Smith College School of Social Work and is working towards her LCSW. She has worked/volunteered with sexual and gender minorities for the last several years. Charlotte also works as an in-home family therapist for clients referred through DHS.
