SMYRC honors and supports the power of LGBTQ youth to change the world.

Who We Are: Volunteers

SMYRC operates primarily on volunteer power.

SMYRC volunteers are a dedicated group of adults, over the age of 24, who provide one-on-one support, mentorship, and supervision of LGBTQ youth in the resource center and other SMYRC programs. The volunteers of SMYRC are creative and passionate about supporting the next generations of the LGBTQ community. Adult SMYRC volunteers come in all ages, sexual orientations, gender identities, and cultural backgrounds. To prepare for their time at SMYRC, volunteers attend a six-hour training and orientation where they learn specific skills for working with and supporting LGBTQ youth.

If you're over the age of 24 and you're interested in becoming a part of our team, please contact Jess Herbach at Jess@pdxQcenter.org for more information.
